You may have read it somewhere or heard someone say it but you don’t know what it means? h2oCory reveals all! Ok, i’ll stop the shenanigans, “water crisis” is pretty real and very hardcore.
“Water crisis is a term used to refer to the world’s water resources relative to human demand.” (United Nations statement on water crisis)
There are several principal manifestations of the water crisis.
- Inadequate access to safe drinking water for about 884 million people[9]
- Inadequate access to water for sanitation and waste disposal for 2.5 billion people[10]
- Groundwater overdrafting (excessive use) leading to diminished agricultural yields[11]
- Overuse and pollution of water resources harming biodiversity
- Regional conflicts over scarce water resources sometimes resulting in warfare
So, if you are new to the idea of what a water crisis is, basically, not enough water where it needs to be, to much pollution where it shouldn’t be, and humans killing each other for it because it’s more valuable than food, gold, oil, and third only to air and God in my book. It’s a big deal.

You are one of two people.
- A toe dipper at a public pool - the idea is nice, but you don’t like the temp.
- The eager young child - we’re all getting wet someday, might as well jump in.
I would love for you to be the eager young child, not only because this is my passion, but because this “crisis” is spreading faster that those in America would like to admit. Soon it will be on everyones front door, 32 United States are already in a state of water crisis and the crisis is growing. Contractors are building homes where there is already a strain on the water supply, dams are built and water diverted, pollution, drought, etc.
