We get a lot of email over the course of a month for potential clients and partners looking to build an idea into a viable market venture. Many of the ideas have merit but few seem to be thought through to a successful conversion. The thing that will make the venture a success for you, whether…

Family
FROM coolheadstrongheart: I hope everyone is having a blast.  I’m going to be brief today.  Don’t be afraid to talk about the future.  Don’t be fearful and don’t be fear mongering.  That’s the work of fools.  But - if you sincerely think next Christmas is going to be significantly different, don’t be afraid to share your opinion and ask what your family is doing.  You will likely be...

State of Disruption
I don’t really know what to blog about these days. That is probably why I haven’t. WikiLeaks manages to score a great deal to post about, but I feel that I have just not been blessed the same. I mean, sure… I have lots I COULD blog about. What is it that you want to read though? Is there a way I can mix my happenings with your musings? For me, things are changing. Work is...

Photographing Cholera’s Awful Toll in Haiti
by David W. Dunlap If you thought that Emilio Morenatti would have had enough of the world’s hot spots after he lost his left foot in a roadside bomb attack in Afghanistan 15 months ago, then you’re not thinking like a photojournalist. Mr. Morenatti has returned to the worst of it, covering the cholera epidemic in Haiti, which had killed more than 900 people by Sunday. His work is presented...

Large Swaths of Earth Drying Up, Study Suggests.
FROM CORY: It’s interesting to note that there are a lot of causes for the result of the water crisis. Lots of people harp on over-use of city/rural water or contamination, and all those have hugely valid points. it is, however, nice to read an article that brings something new to the table. This article was shared with me by @jonathanheston By LiveScience Staff “The soils in large...

What Would It Take?
How much money would it take to solve the world water crisis? Most people are taking a serious look at the numbers within the context of the Millennium Development Goal (MDG) to “reduce by half the proportion of people without sustainable access to safe drinking water and basic sanitation by 2015.” So most of the best numbers only address half the need, but include providing adequate sanitation...

crysthao asked: I've only recently became fully aware of the Water Crisis. When I say recently I mean the past couple of months/less. Right now I'm in the stages of further educating myself and just getting the word out to others. I'm trying to look into I guess the "next step".

crysthao asked: Hey Cory! You wrote about a water trip you went on, what agency did you go with? I've been wanting to get more involved in helping the Water Crisis. Looking through your blog you seem very well educated and passionate about the subject, any pointers in getting the word out?

Interesting piece on Water Crisis
cdangt: In a Kenyan Slum, Clean Drinking Water Gets Low Priority KIBERA , Kenya — The government clinic gets a shipment of water purification tablets every three or four months. In a week or two the tablets are gone. And then the people here in this rambling slum on the edge of Nairobi are on their own. So how bad is that? Now add orange and blue stars scooped from the heavens and thrown on pitch-black uneven earth with the look of crystal clarity and strong dark and light...

Day 1
Driving to KCI, felling like I left an important item at home makes me also feel tired and nap-ish. The cloudy, almost cold day is not helping. However, my heart is ready to rock this trip. I am so ready for adventure. Sand, dirt roads... all the romance of Africa; we'll see how that plays out. : ) It's fun sitting in a van listening to seasoned travel veterans; lots of good stories. For instance: alone I-435north on the west side, tobacco used to be a big crop in this area. I never knew that. Another note, I'm looking forward to having some plane-time to adjust my long-term goals and get some focus clarity. That's always a good time!
